Baratti is a village in the municipality of Piombino , from the name to the Gulf that straddles between the Ligurian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea . A town of Etruscan origins , as proof of this today there are some burial mounds . used as a port of call in the Etruscan period and in the Roman Empire, it preserves an important archaeological heritage , so as to fall part of Baratti and Populonia Archaeological Park.
